Testimonials

What do FFPE trained Pilates teachers say?

"The training gave me a vision and understanding of the whole system created by Joseph Pilates. Jenny stays as close as possible to the classical Pilates movements created by Joseph, without ever distorting them. I really appreciated her rigour and her fidelity to the spirit of classical Pilates.

The weekends are spaced out enough to give us time to perform the movements seen in training, before seeing the next ones. Jenny was always available to answer my questions throughout the weeks. Her rigorous teaching gives you a solid grounding in Pilates and the ability to correct students effectively and understand the movements in depth, in your own body.

Your master teacher

My name is Jenny Backlund-Jenkins and I am a former professional dancer: I was part of the Moulin Rouge Ball and the Lido de Paris. I am trained in both classical and contemporary Pilates. I have been teaching Pilates for over 10 years. My mentor is Mejo Wiggin, a world renowned classical Pilates teacher trainer. As well as being the creator of the Ballet Form method, I am the founder and director of Future Form Pilates Education. I have worked over the last few years to make FFPE a European leader in classical Pilates teacher training, and my staff and I are now very proud of the world class facilities and training programme offered in Nice.

FAQ

Training is divided into four levels: Beginner, Intermediate I, Intermediate II and Advanced. Each level corresponds to a "system", comprising all the Pilates apparatus. In the classical Pilates system, you need to understand the discipline in its entirety, in order to master it. It's for this reason that FFPE doesn't train by apparatus type, but by level. For example, the beginner system covers all beginner-level exercises, on all devices. Trainees can register for each level progressively, and must complete all hours and assessments per level, in order to progress to the next level. An exam is required between each level.

Each level comprises 3 to 4 full days of training. The apprentice must then complete all the required hours of practice and instruction, depending on the level, before moving on to the next level. Overall, it takes 2 to 4 months for each level, then 4 to 6 months for the advanced level, including the final assessment.

Upon completion of the entire program, beginner to advanced, you will be a certified classical Pilates teacher through Future Form Pilates Education. Keep in mind that this does not mean that you will automatically become certified. You must do all the work and pass the assessment phase. The FFPE Classical program is very comprehensive and our standards are rigorous, so there are no shortcuts!

There is no typical FFPE candidate, but the training is particularly adapted to the following profiles:

Holders of the state diploma of sports educator

Holders of the CQP ALS AGEE

STAPS graduates

Physiotherapists and other paramedical professionals

Professional dancers and dance teachers

High level sportsmen and women

Sports coaches from other disciplines (fitness, martial arts, yoga, etc.)

-Anyone who is passionate about Pilates and wants to change careers with an appropriate level of Pilates
